Greenwich Hotel, Robert De Niro 

The Greenwich Hotel in New York is one of the city’s most glamorous, complete with stylish spa, high-end restaurants and a reservation list that reads like a who's who of Hollywood. The interior is a mish-mash of global design influences, taking cues from Morocco, Asia and Europe, and oozes stylish comfort.

Palazzo Margherita, Francis Ford Coppola 

The Godfather director owns a series of hotels all over the globe, but his favourite is the Palazzo Margherita in the small Italian hilltop of Bernalda. Designed in collaboration with Jacques Grange, the palazzo was renovated to be a decadent hideaway filled with references to the famous auteur’s family. The 19th century building is steeped in history and has a luxurious boutique feel while remaining authentically Italian, with exotic tiles and hand painted frescos.

Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat, Hugh Jackman 

Hugh Jackman originally went for a short stay at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat on Australia's Gold Coast when he was getting in shape for the movie Wolverine, but he fell so in love with the property that he wound up staying for months and eventually buying the place. The sleek, modern meditation huts provide an oasis of calm hidden among ample green space dotted with eucalyptus trees.

Blackadore Caye, Leonardo Dicaprio

Currently under construction in Belize, Blackadore Caye is set to become a luxurious, eco-friendly private island resort. The aim is to create a leading example in green hospitality – combining sustainable tourism with exceptional design, the latter executed by those responsible for Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives. More than half the island will be a nature reserve and the resort is to be powered by renewable energy. 

11 Cadogan Gardens, Liz Hurley 

11 Cadogan Gardens is Liz Hurley’s sumptuous redesign of four classic red-brick Victorian townhouses in London’s prestigious Knightsbridge neighbourhood. The decor is plush, with each suite boasting its own personality. Opulent and decadent with a traditional edge, the hotel is a master in luxury.
