As temperatures rise, so does the city’s craving for cold, refreshing beverages – and Flamingo Bloom is here to deliver. Newly opened on Stanley Street in Soho earlier this month, this teahouse takes inspiration from Hong Kong’s long history of tea drinking and elevates it to the next level, creating drinks made from all-natural, hand-crafted teas sourced from China and Taiwan. Founded by Benjamin Ang – the force behind award-winning restaurants Dragon Noodles Academy and social place – the teahouse also features playful, relaxing interiors.

Each drink is made to order. Visitors choose from among four bases: jasmine green tips tea from Fujian, highland oolong from Taiwan, chrysanthemum pu’er from Yunnan, and honey orchid black tea from Sichuan. (These bases are brewed fresh every four hours using loose tea leaves.) Then, other ingredients such as fresh fruit, boba, matcha, French rose or a salted milk cap are added according to the guest’s specifications. Tea purists can also enjoy the drink simply poured over ice.
