Those who have not yet had the opportunity to visit the Maison & Objet furniture fair in Paris can now get a taste of the design event of the year at a new exhibition taking place at the WF Central shopping mall in Beijing.
Located in this sprawling new retail development by Hongkong Land, the M&O Design Pavilion features a curation of 30 European, Asian and Australian brands, among them its five Designers of the Year which includes the likes of Philippe Negro, Eugeni Quitllet, Tom Dixon, Nendo and André Fu. 12 of these brands will mark this occasion as their first entry into the Chinese market, utilising the event to test the waters on their products.
Organised around the theme of “LOVE DESIGN,” the exhibition runs until November 18. See our pick from the exhibition of six brands you need to know:
ANDRÉ FU LIVING
Renowned Hong Kong-based interior designer and architect André Fu founded homeware brand ANDRÉ FU LIVING (AFL) in 2015, drawing on a decidedly modern aesthetic to design a range of home fragrances, candles, towels and the like.

Frank Chou Design Studio
Founded in Beijing in 2012 by Frank Chou, the award-winning Frank Chou Design Studio renders East-West influences in beautifully designed furniture, product and art designs, with its Ping Screen having won the Salone del Mobile SaloneSatellite Award previously.
Italian brand Ghidini 1961 combines traditional artisanship and modern technology to create whimsical homeware products in brass, aluminium and die-cast zinc alloy that pay homage to the tradition of Italian design.
Marking its mainland Chinese debut is Taiwanese design label KIMU Design, which has garnered a following thanks to its zen-inspired designs that marry Asian craft techniques with Western-inspired forms.
Italian furniture brand Rimadesio has long acted as an ambassador for Italian design, thanks to the elevated aesthetic apparent in its doors, shelving units, walk-in closets and the like. Made to be uniquely customisable, the label's designs can suit any lifestyle with ease.
